Mainsprings are let down or unwound

Inside of the movement with front plate removed. Parts are re-examined once again as each piece is
individually removed.

Winding up the mainspring in the barrel to prepare it for removal and cleaning. The heavy gloves are in
case the spring slips loose and to protect my hands. It has happened before!
